We recall very loving Grandmother of our Sadguru Shri Aniruddha Bapu, her name wasShakuntalabai. Her father-in-law’s name was Shri Anant Vaman Pandit. He was
thoroughly devoted to Bhagwan Shrikrishna. He used to wake up in early morning and
begin his chanting of “Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevay” mantra which is known as sort
of trisect mantra. Means: “Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevay” 1008 times, “Om Namo
Bhagavate Vasudevay Namah” 1008 times and “Om Vasudevay Namo Bhagavate”
1008 times. This was his daily firm reciting. As well as, every year he was conducting
his pilgrimage towards the congregation of Bhagwan Shrikrishna at Dwaraka.
During one of those years after the visit to Kashi Vishwanath, he left for Dwaraka. In
those days bullock cart journey was apparent. It was during his journey through one of
the jungle area of North India; at one point the bullock cart abruptly stopped. Those
bulls were not proceeding further. The people who accompanied Shri Anant Pandit
were frightened and in panic. They considered this as ghost act or haunted place and
they left that place. However, Shri Anant Pandit said that he would stay there only and
he considered that as Shrikrishna’s wish. And he alone remained there in that bullock cart in hat night. His chanting of “Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya” mantra was uninterruptedly going on. At that time there came one aged woman, as per the get up and her attire, which was confirming her origin as North Indian. She conversed with Shri Anant Pandit and told him that as you have stopped chanting Shri Ganesh Atharvashirsha stotra; these obstacles are coming in his ways. At that time Shri Anant Pandit told her for him Ganesh was his
Shri Krishna himself. Ganesh is Shri Krishna for him and he started chanting his
mantra again.
Sometime later, one bullock cart was passing through; but he didn’t leave his bullock
cart. Even he didn’t leave the bullocks on the cart halfway. But when he sat again in
the bullock cart chanting simultaneously, the bulls began their journey. But it was
halted again on the way. Shri Anant Pandit got down from the cart and noticed one cobble (Round Stone) on thewheel path. He took efforts to remove it. And again that aged lady came there and told Shri Anant Pandit that this was the outcome of his not reciting Ganesh Mantra. Again he confirmed that he was not distinguishing between Ganesh and Shrikrishna. He further told that aged lady, that the stone was also his Ganesh. After completion of his talk he resumed back to lift the stone, but to his surprise the face Ganesh had appeared on that stone. He was then very much delighted and he noted goddess
Mother Parvati in place of aged woman. That aged lady was not any ordinary woman,
but Goddess Mother of the Universe - Parvati herself. And this is that self emerged Ganesh (Swayambhu) which is inherited to Shri Aniruddha Bapu from his grand mother Shakuntalabai and we are fortunate for this Ganesh’s congregation.
