WHY SHOULD ONE READ THE NEWLY PUBLISHED BOOK ON GODDESS MAHISHASURMARDINI TITLED MATRUVATSALYA VINDANAM AUTHORED BY P. P. ANIRUDDHA BAPU

Discourse by Param Poojya Aniruddha Bapu on 1st October 2009

On the Thursday of 1st October 2009, Param Poojya Aniruddha Bapu delivered His discourse as usual again at New English High School grounds at Bandra East, Mumbai. The discourse centred on what bhav (thinking) should one have in his mind while visiting Aniruddha Gurukshetram and also why should one read the newly published book on Goddess Mahishasurmardini Mata titled Matruvatsalya (Motherly love) Vindanam authored by P. P. Aniruddha Bapu.

P. P. Bapu started His discourse by explaining importance of rules in our life. Bapu appealed to everyone to abide by the rules to the maximum possible extent as they regulate our life. But Bapu further said that God always rates Bhav (love and faith) above rules. Further Bapu explained that Krupa (God's blessings) is dependent on Bhav of devotee. Finally Bapu explained that God exempts His devotee (who tries to abide by His rules and laws to the maximum) when it actually comes to enforcing the rules but enforces them forcefully on all those who try to take maximum advantage of His love by breaking the rules and finding loop holes in them. (Here rule doesn't only mean legal, constitutional rules laid down by governments but also the rules laid down and explained by the Lord).

Further Bapu explained what does Yam and Chitragupt signify in one's life. Traditionally it is believed that Yam is the God of Death and his doots (messengers) come to humans at the time of their death to snatch the life out of our body. But Bapu said that the Yam actually signifies Parmeshwari Ichha (divine plan). Yam signifies the refereshing of human soul that is done by Lord before giving rebirth to that soul in a new bodily form.

Then Bapu explained meaning of Chitragupt. Traditionally it is believed that Chitragupt is the divine Accountant who knows all the good and bad deeds that one has performed during his life. He gives this tally of one's life to Yam when the soul comes to him after death. The name Chitragupt is self explanatory in itself, the one who can also see the hidden (gupt) picture (chitra) is Chitragupt. To this Bapu explained that Chitragupt signifies the reminder left over after the tally of good and bad deeds performed during living life by a person.

Further Bapu clarified the misconception, confusion and fear that surrounds and fills the minds of general people that 'Lord gets angry and causes harm to us when we do not abide by the promise we have made to Him'. Bapu firmly stated that the one who gets angry and harms would not be fits to be God because God never harms anybody out of His anger. Bapu examplified it and explained that even a human mother would also not harm her child out of her anger then how could this Divine Mother, your Lord, harm you? Yes the Lord gets angry but only where there is no bhakti (worship). If one worships any pure forms of Lord (e.g. Sai Baba, Swami Samarth, Lord Rama, Lord Krishna, Lord Parshuram, Lord Vitthal, Lord Jagannath, Lord Venkatesh, Lord Dattaguru, Lord Dattatrey, Lord Nrusinh Saraswati, Lord Hanumant, Goddess Gayatri Mata, Goddess Anusaya Mata, Goddess Mahishasurmardini Mata, Lord Mahavishnu, Lord Paramshiv, Goddess Mahalaxmi, Goddess Mahakali, Goddess Mahasaraswati or your Sadguru) then we should not have fear of Lord inflicting any harm on us.

Further Bapu explained what bhav one should have in his heart when visiting Shree Kshetra Aniruddha Gurukshetram. Bapu said that while taking darshan of Goddess Mahishasurmardini at Aniruddha Gurukshetram one should always think that She is my mother or atleast that She is my beloved Bapu's mother and Bapu is my, my own. Aniruddha Gurukshetram has two Goddess viz., Goddess Anusaya who signifies love and is eveready to sing praise about Her children and the other being Goddess Mahishasurmardini who signifies end of evil and is eveready for defending Her children from evil.

P.P. Bapu explained that reading the book Matruvatsalya Vindanam would definitely benefit the reader (in bettering his life and eliminating all his troubles). Bapu also stressed the importance of reading the book especially during Navratri festival. (In the book Bapu explains that this book is the praise and love of Goddess Mahishasurmardini. Bapu also believes that the Goddess would sit next to the reader to listen to him and reciprocate it by showering her blessings on the reader as all the devotees are Her children).

Finally before winding up His discourse Bapu explained the meaning of Dadhichi (who was a great saint and a teacher). Bapu said that Dadhichi was so pure that Vajra which is the weapon used by Lord Indra, the king of divine universal powers (shivatme) is made from the bone ash of Dadhichi. Vajra can never be broken or harmed by any other weapon and is believed to the deadliest weapon for destruction of evil. The part of mind that has been converted to the purest form called Chitta is referred as Vajra. Bapu then said that Dadhichi signifies whole hearted worship and completely devotion (bhav). Bapu also referred to Lord Hanumant Who is called as Vajrang (Body made from Vajra) and again cleared one confusion of masses about the multiple heads that are seen affixed to torsos of Lord Dattaguru, Lord Hanumant (Panchmukhi Hanumant), etc. Bapu said that these Gods practically and biologically do not have 3, 5 or more heads attached to their torsos but these multiple heads are attached and visible only on the aesthetic, divine level.

Finally at the end of discourse P.P. Bapu appealed to all the devotees to try to abide by His principles, rules, thoughts and sayings and He would guarantee them that their life won't be a waste and death would be utilized.
