Sadguru Shree Aniruddha Upasana Trust had organized a Maha Charkha Shibir held between 12 to 26 May 2008. Aniruddha Bapu bhaktas are seen working on Ambar Charkhas. A short clip from DD Sahayadri

|| Om Kshemroopayeh Namah ||

When we meet somebody after many days, or write to somebody, then we ask about their health and happiness, we enquire about their well-being. Yogkshemah Vahamyaham. What does kshem mean? The meaning of the word kshem is all that which is necessary in life to survive in a human form. Not only for survival, but to live as a human being, not as any species or animal, but as a human. Meaning to become a human, not only for breathing, not only to maintain the rhythm and beat of the heart, not only to gratify the stomach, not only for recreation, but to enable and to fill the life of a human being with good qualities (gunas). The things that are required to facilitate a human remain as an individual is called as kshem. Meaning whether or not you get proper food to eat, whether or not you are get a good bed to rest, whether you have a good house to live in or not, whether you have jewellery of gold or diamonds or not, all these are not included in kshem. Kshem is that which makes a human as a human, stabilizes the manyushatva of the human, and stabilizes the humanity in us. That is called as kshem and that Radha, who is Radhaji, is said to be kshemroopa (having the form of kshem). Meaning what every human being refers to as kshem, this Radhaji is the idol of the same; this Radhaji herself is its complete form (Purnaswaroop). Meaning Radha is the one who makes a human as a human, negates, and pushes away the state of being an animal (pashutva) in the human. To such a Radhaji I offer my obeisance. However we feel in our life that, we are humans, we are men, we behave like humans, we speak the language of humans. Merely by speaking the language, only by wearing clothes a human does not become a human. Some times we witness devils in the form of humans. In a huge flock animals hide in the mind of every human being. And when they get an adequate opportunity these animals jump

gallop and come out. We sit astonished. Brother what happened? This human was appearing so good, suddenly how has he become a devil? Suddenly how has he become an animal? There is only one reason behind this. When kshem goes far away from life, then a human does not remain a human, the human form remains, he still possesses the materialistic qualities (shararik guna) but the feelings are that of an animal. This is the first step. Even then if a person fails to realize that something wrong is happening in life then he transforms into a devil, he becomes a histrapashu. Meaning if in our life if we want to remain as humans then we need kshem. And Radhaji herself is the idol of kshem. Hence we need Radhaji. You will say, Bapu what is
the need? How does it matter even if there are qualities of an animal? It makes a difference. I have told repeatedly, When Lord Brahma created the entire universe and at the end when he created man, then viewing his shape, his qualities Lord Brahma said Ma – Navah meaning now I will not create anything new. Meaning Man is the supreme creation of the Lord. And after passing through 84 lakh births, we are gifted with a human birth. Meaning we have to progress through all these stages to become a human being. And after becoming a human when a man leaves behind the qualities of a human being and tries to become like a species, starts behaving like an animal then it is called as a sin.

What is the difference between a man and an animal? The animal, any type of pest and a human possess four predominant qualities. Food, sleep, fear, and union (Aahar, Nidra, Bhay, Maithun). All possesses these four qualities. Even then what is the difference between a man and the remaining? One, that man has intellect. Intellect is not the only difference. The difference lies in the utilization of all these qualities. A man implements all the qualities as per the laws of the God. Not by harming others. A man is aware about the laws of the Lord and hence he is tied with His laws. And till the time this man walks on the path of laws laid down by the Lord, only till then he is a human. Meaning what is kshem? To abide by the laws of the God is kshem, and this bhagwati Radha herself, always abides by each and every law of the lord, always. And makes others abide. When this kshem decreases in humans then the animal hidden in his mind awakens. For what reasons does this kshem decrease? Is this there with humans or no or
a man has to earn this? No! It is like this, along with the birth of every human being this kshem is present, it is present with each and everyone and that too how much? It is present in proportion to the extent of how wicked, how bad his past deeds are. Understood! Kshem means the wish to abide by the laws of God, their knowledge. How much is present with each human being. It ispresent in proportion to the extent of how difficult, how bad that persons past deeds are. Meaning, the person whose past deeds are good possess it in a small proportion and the one whose past deeds are bad posses it in a larger proportion. This is called compassion without reason (Akaaran Karunya). This is called as freedom of action. Both are together. The one whose past deeds are good and for whom everything is going right, because of this, he should think in his mind, due to his freedom of action that, God has given me everything, there are no obstacles, hence it is very easy for me to abide by the laws of the Lord. Although he has this knowledge, he has to earn the strength to follow these laws. But the one whose past deeds are bad, due to his own wicked actions in previous births, still due to the Akaaran Karunya of bhagwati Radha
that human possesses the maximum amount of kshem. Because of this, the person who has a lot of troubles in his life, that person always has more amount of kshem in his Manomay and Pranamay body. And with the help of that kshem he can change his past deeds (Prarabadh).
Why are they given more kshem? So that they can change their Prarabadh. You will say that Bapu,God is so unjust. He is giving less to the ones whose Prarabadh are good. Less does not mean little, it is comparatively less. He definitely gets what is essential for him. And no human being takes birth only with his virtues. Every person that takes birth brings with him the virtues of last 2 births and the sins of last two births. Somewhere sins would be more and somewhere virtues would be more. Howevereven where there are more of virtues there sins will also exist. I have told repeatedly it does not happen like this. There are 100 grams of sin and I have done 200 grams of virtues, then if 100 grams of sins are subtracted from 200 grams of virtues then 100 grams of virtues will remain. No it does not happen like this. 200 grams of virtues will come and 100 grams of sins will also come. Then for those 100 grams of sins, for those bad deeds whatever is essential, that much kshem is there with everyone? Meaning along with the birth of every human being he is given kshem. Meaning every human possesses the desire to abide by the laws of the Lord, the knowledge to abide, the mental frame to abide. However depending on whether we increase or decrease the amount of kshem present along with us during our birth, based on that, what type of experiences do we get in our life? If we get more of bad experiences then understand that we are spending too much of our kshem. How does kshem decrease? The first thing is that kshem decreases because of anger. The desire to abide by the laws of the lord is always less in the people who posses anger. It is less in the ones who are short tempered. Hence I tell repeatedly because of anger think who loses more? The ones who have anger. Due to anger the kshem that had come along with us decreases. Meaning humanity keeps on decreasing and the animal instinct keeps on increasing. The first thing is anger which decreases kshem. The second thing is Paraninda meaning speaking ill about others, to keep on highlighting the faults of others, to keep on cursing others without reason and the third thing is not to see our own
faults. Not to know one’s own vices and keep on observing the vices of others. These two are together. When both these things are present along with us, then kshem decreases. Not only by speaking bad about others, but when we do not try to rectify our own faults and we keep on trying to point out the fault of others, then the kshem that we had bought along with us starts decreasing. The animal, which is there in our mind, starts increasing. These two things happen, one is anger and the other is paraninda, and overseeing ones own faults and not even trying to rectify them. The third thing because of which kshem decreases, it is said that it is very
difficult to understand the third reason. I know. But I will try to make you understand. That quality is called as Aakruti Parayanatah. We are tied to this form (aakruti), along with this form. And this is a big problem because of which our kshem decreases. We get associated even with the form of the Lord. We think that God resides in the idol of God. When we forget that God is us everywhere, then it becomes aakruti parayanatah. Only aakruti parayanatah and what else should be there with us? Not aakruti parayanatah. Not related to the form, not only related to the idol but also related to the action of God. Meaning kruti parayanatah. Aakruti parayanatah is a flaw whereas kruti parayanatah or leela parayanatah is the virtuous quality (sadgun) of Lord. We are aakruti paran. We love the form of the Lord very much. The form of Sai Baba, that of Ram, that of Vitthal, that of Shiva, but we forget in our life that this Lord Sai, Shiva are not present only in the idol. He is observing me from everywhere. And He also knows what is going on in my mind at the same moment and when the human being tries to make the relation only with the form and when he forgets His Omniscience, His presence everywhere, then our kshem decreases. You will say Bapu it is better that we become atheists, so that we will not believe even in the form as a result at least whatever kshem is there will remain with us No. It will decline beyond what is needed. This fourth guna is atheism. And amongst the four gunas, four reasons, it is said that atheism decreases this kshem to the maximum extent. When we do not believe in God, then at least we should believe in truth. When a person does not believe in God, but abides by truth, then in the eyes of the Lord he is a believer. Normal human beings cannot become Satyavadi Harishchandra and also not completely be devoted to the Lord - bhakti. And when we get engrossed in the devotion of lord then we become devoted to the form. We do not become devoted to kruti. The kshem, which is there with an atheist, starts declining with a very high intensity. Why? Because see, you are residing in some building, in that building today in Mumbai there was no water. In some place on the top of your building there is a tank, whose connection is done with the tap in your house, only then you will get water! If you go and put your house tank in someone else’s building then what will happen? The people residing there will uproot the tap and throw it away. If they do not rotate the knob there then there willbe no water in your tap. Meaning what is yours is yours. Nowadays we do kidney transfers. We put one person’s kidney in the other. Then also does it happen that anybody’s kidney is taken and put it in humans, like take it from the donkey, take it from the buffalo, and put it, it cannot happen. Even in humans, any human’s cannot be put, even if the blood group is common it is not valid. Histotyping and
tissue typing is a must. If it matches 95% only then can a transfer be done. Meaning when we utilize what is not belonging to us then difficulties arises and we are unable to achieve anything. The kshem is Bhagwati Radha herself. She is kshemroopa...Hence till the time we do not offer devotion, do not recite God’s name, do not pray to the Lord, do not chant the name, hymns of the Lord, do not do lotangan, do not bow before the Lord, do not do pradakshina, do not offer devotion on the path of bhakti, till then this kshem does not come to us in an increasing proportion. And the second thing is that when we forget the existence of God meaning, atheism, when we strongly believe that God does not exist then automatically what happens? Automatically the qualities of the Lord namely Satya, Prem, and Anand, when God only is not there in our life then in our life neither there will be Satya, neither will there be Prem and neither will be Anand. Hence in our life when we become atheist then what kind of people start surrounding us? The ones who do not believe in love, the ones who do not believe in Satya, the ones who do not give peace, the ones who snatch away peace and when such kind of people surround us then from where will happiness come? From where will peace come? And when we confront such people everyday, then we automatically also start accepting their multiple vices. And in the company of such people whom do we start slandering? God. Despite being an atheist if we keep quite then it is all right. When we start slandering God, paraninda, I have already said before after anger there is paraninda. When an atheist starts slandering God, starts cursing God, starts telling people that there is no God, starts obstructing the mind of believers, devotees, then this becomes the biggest sin or else starts talking some wrong things about God, was your Lord Krishna doing Raaskrida, was he a fraud, a thief. What your Ram! He killed Bali after hiding
behind a tree. Such episodes whose meaning also is not known to the people, when he starts talking about them, tries to obstruct your mind, tries to harass your mind, tries to deceive your mind, then this is paraninda and that too of whom? Of God. By even slandering humans kshem decreases then by
slandering God to what extent will kshem decrease? Understand this. Hence atheism is the fourth
reason because of which kshem decreases. It is because of these four reasons the kshem that we
possess, which we brought along with us, when we came in this world, that kshem decreases.
And when this kshem decreases then the animal in our mind overpowers the
man in our mind, the humanity, and the humanity of the man. And such things
start happening with our hands, which are not right for humanity. It may be
right for one animal. And out of the numerous animals existing in human mind,
it is said that when 11 animals get activated then the person becomes a
demon. How were demons born? From human beings. It is clearly mentioned in
Saisatcharitra when out of all the animals residing in the mind of the human
when 11 are awakened and become active then the human becomes a demon.
And the Leader of these animals is called Pashupatinath. ---11 rudras. The work of these 11 rudras is
that, in every human whenever an animal get awakened, then each rudra takes care of it. This is Lord
Shiva’s order - that one rudra can control only one animal. So just look how beautiful is the Lord’s
compassion. Even if we go on awakening the animals in our mind, still till the time 11 animals are
awakened, we are not ruined because each rudra is that of Lord Shiva that is if we are devotees.
Devotees of any form of God, then Lord Shiva’s each rudra controls each of our animals. And what
happens because of this is, that till the time the 12th animal is not awakened, till that time the count of
the (awakened) animals is not started. How much freedom the lord has given us that even if we go on
the wrong path, till the time after 11 animals are awakened and the 12th animal is not awakened, till
that time our kshem does not start decreasing. See we don’t start transforming into demons. But who
gets this? A devotee gets this. The one who can do devotion (bhakti). Anybody can understand how
much similarity is there between the words rudra and Radha.
In English if we see, if you split out Radha, the pronunciation of rudra, the words rudra and Radha are
very close. And it has been said of Radhaji that she has 11 friends and these 11 friends, 11 maids of
Radhaji, they also do the same work. They control the animal that arises in a human’s mind. Till the
time we believe in God, do devotion of God, till that time that time the chances of our kshem
decreasing are very less. The chances are extremely less. But when we become an atheist then, the 11
rudras of Lord Shiva and the 11 friends of Radhaji do not control the animal that is awakened in our
mind. As we move far from Radhaji, as we move away from Lord’s devotion then this rudra and
Radhaji’s friends whichever angle you want to see it from, whether the angle of shaivya or vaishya, but the animal which survives in our mind, the power which controls it, stops doing its work. The
countdown expedites and the human gets transformed into a devil. And it I said that the proportion in
which every time, every devil confers agony on others, after he gives sufferings to others, 10,000
times of that suffering he gives to himself. When? When he becomes a demon. Till the time he
becomes a demon, meaning when the 11 animals are getting awakened till that time whatever
sufferings he was giving, after becoming a devil he continues to give agonies to others, however along
with it he himself has to take the burden of 10,000 times more sufferings.
We will think that Bapu we witness so many people, who move around with waywardness in them,
means that 8, 9, or 10 animals have been awakened. Not all of them. Even after all the 11 animals are
awakened there still will be many animals there. However after the 11 animals get awakened when a
human gets transformed into a devil then the first thing that happens is that he does not want to recite
the Lord’s name. The thought also does not arise. What do we see? Devils also do devotion. The do of
Lord Siva, of Lord Brahma, but never of Lord Vishnu. They never do of Vishnu Roop or even of Ram
Roop. Because in present there is a very important quality of the demons, they always destroy the past
and future of the human being. They cannot do anything to the present. And the form (swaroop) of
Vishnu is the present. You will say that Bapu, Ravan was a demon. He kidnapped Mother Sita. Mustn’t
that have happened in the present? That mustn’t have happened in the future? That mustn’t have
happened in the past? In everyone’s mind this question must arise. This is not a doubt; there is no
speculation on this. You do not doubt God, you are trying to understand. We must see what does this
mean. We have an example before us. Ravan kidnapped Mother Sita. When any demon eats someone
then he eats in the present tense. He doesn’t engulf in the past or in the future. We must understand as to why did Ravan kidnap mother Sita? When Mother
Sita saw kanchanmrug, then she mentioned to lord Ram her desire to have the
flesh of that kanchanmrug. I want to make clothes out of it. Lord Ram told
mother Sita that, look Sita there is nothing such as a kanchanmrug. Mother Sita
said that I have seen it with my own eyes. You please go. When because of her
attachment she sent Lord Ram away, Ram went far away, and Ram got
separated. Even when Ram went away Lakhan (Laxman) was there behind.
following greed and temptation, deceit automatically takes birth. That
same kanchanmrug started shouting. Laxman, run, run for me, run to help me. Sita listens to these
words. Laxman tells her that mother Ram is more capable (samarthyavan), than me. Of what help will
I be for him? I have been ordered that I should stay back with you for your protection. Then Mother
Sita says, No, no irrespective of anything you go. You have to go and save your brother. She got
trapped in the deceit. She sent Lakhan. Even then brother had drawn a line and said that Mother do
not cross this line. Ravan then came. How did he come, he came in the form of a beggar. He came to
beg. He had to come to kidnap Sita but see how he had to come? He had to come in the form of a
beggar. I am hungry since several days, please give me food. And he said that I am a sadhu (sage).
Sita said that I would definitely give you alms. But I cannot cross this line. That sage that Ravan said
that I also cannot come inside. Mother Sita was aware about the responsibility of the lady of the house
hence she put only one foot outside the line and Ravan kidnapped her. Wasn’t Sita aware about this?
This Sita herself is Maryada. She has taught us that when someone crosses the Maryada (boundary /
limitation) then what is the state of that person. When the maryadaroopini herself, when Sita also
crossed the boundary then what happens, then her past encroaches upon the present. The past starts
staying in the present.
Hence many a times we see that when someone dies, then his wife starts crying. When his body is
lifted by people to be taken away, then suddenly his wife starts behaving as if nothing has happened.
For some moments she forgets that her husband has died. He is about to arrive, I have to make tea for
him, and I have to make breakfast for him. People are surprised and repeatedly shake her and tell her
sister wake up, your husband has passed away, his dead body has been taken. “What happened to
her?” The time of the death of her husband has passed away and in the past when her husband was
alive, the past starts staying in the present, meaning vikruti (abnormality). Meaning the present tense
becomes vikrut (disturbed). Because of this, the present does not remain as present. When we are
standing in front of the lord’s idol, when we are praying to him, and the prayers to the idol are going on with our mouth and the idol is seen with our eyes then during this time what happens? Our eyes are
seeing the idol, but in our mind other thought processes are going on. Because of intellect the prayers
are being recited from our mouth. But even then our mind does not become vikrut. The past does not
come and sit in our present because the lord’s enchantment is happening from our mouth,
gunasankirtan and naamsankirtan are happening and our eyes are seeing the lord. But when we do the
same things by thinking that we are not in front of the lord’s idol meaning whatever we do throughout
the day, and when our mind ponders over some bad deeds, some bad places then what happens? In
our present arrives our past and makes our present vikrut. And when the present becomes vikrut then
whatever right should happen with our hands does not happen and then the demon comes and kidnaps
our kshem, that Sita who is Radha, that kshem. Hence everyday when we want to bear in mind that
we are humans and we want to live in our present properly, we want to maintain our present as
avikrut then brother in the morning and evening, at least these two times keep on reciting the name of
the lord, do gunasankirtan, do anhik, do prayers that at least for that day I should have that strength
which will not make my present vikrut. Kshem is there with us but to increase it is my duty. It is the
duty of every individual. Ananyaschint Yato May YeJjanam Maa Paryupaaste Tosham
Nityamabhiyuktanaam Yogakkshemam Vahamyaham
Ananyaschint Yato May Ye Janam Maa Paryupaaste. With this faith in mind that there is no one other
than Me (Bapu), remember Me at all times, the worry that neither he nor his kshem should ever
decline is always there in My mind. I am constantly working to ensure that his kshem never separates
from his life. This is a promise. And a promise once given is given, it is never taken back. We must
understand these words, the words from Gita. That devotee who believes in me in any form (ananya
roop se), who believes in me with a constant focus (ananyadrushti), who knows me, who offers
devotion, from their life their kshem will never move away, will never decrease, for this I am doing
everything. I do everything. But for this what should we humans do? We humans should offer devotion
to him in ananyaswaroop. With ananya roop.
Some days back tears rolled down from my eyes. Not because of some grief but because of happiness (Anand). At Happy Home some Pujan is going on. People come to zeceive the photo blessed with my hands. I
also give them one coconut. One person went home and made Prasad
of the coconut, the way I told him. He gave it to everybody and the
hard shell covering the coconut, I do not what is it called in Hindi, his
wife took that hard outer covering of the coconut to be thrown. He
said, Aree, No, No, don’t throw that. Bapu has touched this. Bapu did not touch the coconut
inside which, you consider that as Prasad, and stupid you are throwing that which has been
touched by Bapu. Arre don’t do anything wrong. Don’t throw that covering. That is the most
beloved thing for me. I was listening when this husband – wife were speaking. Tears
actually flowed down my cheeks after seeing the devotion of that husband. Many people
must have taken this Prasad and eaten in their house. I know that. But all must have eaten
the coconut and definitely thrown away that covering. There is nothing wrong in it. Don’t
think that you all are worthless. No, but you can learn from this man, I also learnt devotion
from this man, truly. That the coconut which was inside was not blessed by Bapu, but
considering that as Prasad you ate it and the outer covering which was blessed by Bapu, you
are considering that merely as a covering and throwing it. You are crazy, stupid. He was not
abusing, he was saying it with love. He was angry with her but that anger was also out of
love. Love towards his Bapu, love towards his wife, love towards his children. Hence the
wife accepted it. The wife said that it is a very noble thought. They decorated it very well
and kept it in their shrine, kept it in their temple. This is devotion. To offer flowers, to offer
a garland, to sing long hymns, to chant shlokas does not mean bhakti. Devotion is love and
faith. In the life of that human how much faith does he have on his Bapu? That Bapu has
touched the covering; this is something that cannot be thrown because Bapu has blessed it.
This is the true Prasad; inside it is just a thing to be eaten. He is not crazy. He did no try to
bite and eat the covering. However he was the only one who realized what this actually is.
Ananyaschint Mam, is Ananyaschintam. Once He touches anything then there is nothing
more supreme than that thing. This is the most supreme for me. It should happen like this.
In our life, the flow of our life should become like this. Then that kshem which is there with
us will keep on increasing. That day I bestowed on that man ten fold more kshem of what he
had lost. “Take this” This was not only by word of mouth, it was not only to say, but it was
his feelings. Become like this my friends, become like this. Your Bapu is always with you. Because of your bad deeds, because of your bad qualities even if from one path your entire kshem gets washed away then also there is nothing to worry about, however only if you
truly consider me as your friend, you consider me as yours, this feeling of belongingness is with you. But I am very possessive, of which there aren’t any boundaries, if you become friendlier to anyone else, consider him as yours more than me, then I start feeling jealous. Definitely, I
said that only I am the biggest fraud. I am the one who gets angry the most. I am the most sinful person. Because I consider all the sins of all my children, of all my friends, who truly love me as mine. Hence the person who has an unbroken love towards me, I consider his sins as mine. I not only consider but also accept them. And that too fifty – fifty. I am ready to accept 50% of his sins. I accept. But when? Ananya, if there are no boundaries then even I do not have any boundaries. Not only in your good deeds, but I have a share even in your sins. Sins do not mean to do sins, but to suffer the sins. To get rid of sins. To fight against it. But when? When the bhaav (feelings) remain indefinite / unbroken only then. But what do we think? If we eat the coconut inside then we are getting the Prasad. Like how did this devotee think, that no, this covering is worth 10 lacs, 10 crore times more than the Prasad inside. This is very important. This is the most pious thing in my life. The one who possesses this ananya bhaav in the hands of that person I am sold withoutany money. This is the last Thursday of 2006. I have told this repeatedly to you all that from 2007 even I am going to change. You never know? May be I will come dressed up like a clown, or I may become someone else. I do not know. I am definitely going to change. What I will change into, I do not know. I do not know today. However everything is going to change. Hence to ensure that this change does not cause harm to my friends, does not remain with my friends, I will change many things here also. However one thing will never change, my love and my faith / belief towards truth. I definitely love twice the amount of what love one has
towards me. But I have never left truth and it is a matter of destiny that truth also has never
left me. These two things will never change. Truth and love, which belong to me, will also
never change. And hence Anand will never fall short.
